  1. Hye Sir.
If you still remember, about a year ago I`ve sent my comments here, asking you about the tips and skills that should I get to become a good cadet planter. Remember?
Alhamdullilah, now I got an offer from IOI plantations to work in their estates in Sabah, specifically, in the Syarimo estate in Lahad Datu, Sabah. What is your opinion about this company and the estate Sir? I heard a lot of bad things about this company, as well as the estates itself, as many young planters before me have decided to quit or run away, partly because of the behavior and attitude problem from upper management. This makes me wonder something, as I believe the plantation sector in our country is greatly damaged not because of by the stiff competition from Indonesia alone, but from our managers as well, resulting in bad reputation among young graduates and youngsters, thus feel reluctant to involve into this industry, only makes further damages on the palm oil management in terms of human resources.

  2. Good things that you follow my blog and thanks for that. Quite busy lately and hardly have enough time to update the blog.
IOI is not a bad company and the working environment there is challenging. Those who are strong physically and mentally can survive and pursue their career in this industry. Yes, many leaving the company basically due to the management (that is what I heard and they said) but please remember, if you did your job and responsibility as per the set standard, policy and procedure, nobody can touch you except those who jealous of your performances. People who really know their job, be observance, communicate efficiently, monitor work progress and changes, be innovative, continue learning, don't be shy to ask, set your priority right...among others will surely assist you in your career in the industry either with IOI or any other company. Work there, learn the way of doing things, adapt the working culture and environment then you may survive anywhere...

    1. Sorry for the late reply...I do have problem with my internet connection and new responsibilities. Normally, the training especially on job training aims in getting the trainee or the probationary executive to get to use the working culture of the company and estate, practical knowledge on the day-to-day fields activities, handling the workforce, planning, monitoring, budgetary control etc. In other work, managing the available resources and the processes. Don't worry, the training won't kill you...at least so far no cases of cadet died on training...hehehe.
